Astrocat Robin on Planet Ham

That day, Robin the cat’s space rocket made it to Planet Ham. Robin the cat decided to explore the planet because he had heard that it was a planet full of food.

So he landed his rocket on the planet’s surface. It was very pretty – green grass, lots of trees, blue skies and clear streams and ponds. And a small village not far away. When Robin came closer, he saw that the village was indeed small. The tiny houses looked more like children’s toys than the houses where people normally lived. He wondered who lived there?

“I’m greeting the inhabitants of Planet Ham! I’m Robin the astrocat and I’m looking for something good to eat here,” he shouted to the whole village.

Little sausages came tumbling out of the houses. The cat licked his mouth greedily and immediately started eating the sausages. As soon as the other sausages saw it, they ran to their king.

“My lord king, there is a cat in the village and it is eating our citizens,” complained one of the sausages “Look, he bit me too. Here.”

King His Majesty Salami XVII. frowned.

“Send the army after him!” he ordered.

While Robin was eating his sausages, an army of meatballs marched out of the castle with forks and knives.

“Meatballs are my favourite of all,” the cat licked his mouth, leaped between the soldiers and swallowed one meatball after another.

The soldiers threw down their cutlery and fled to the king.

“My lord king, that cat has eaten most of the army! What are we going to do?” asked the frightened Mr. Pickle, who was the only one the cat didn’t like and escaped because of it.

“We have to make a warrior he won’t eat. Hurry, let’s run to the pantry,” King His Majesty Salami XVII. went up the stairs to the ground floor of the castle where the pantry was, followed by the courtiers.

Robin the cat was already stuffed to the brim. He had never seen so much good food that went straight into his mouth. He loved it here. He lay down in the shade under a tree to rest after his meal. But what is that rumbling sound? It’s like an elephant stomping through here.

It wasn’t an elephant. It was a tall warrior that didn’t look like much to eat at first glance. It looked more like a robot. As he came closer, Robin knew it wasn’t a robot. The warrior was made up of all canned food, and it approached him with a rumble.

Robin lunged to bite the enemy, but nearly knocked his teeth out. What now?! Better get away to the rocket quickly, Robin thought.

The cat ran to the rocket, but whoops! Robin couldn’t squeeze through the narrow door. His belly was too big and too full.

He had no choice but to run away from the canned knight. As the overfed Robin was running to and fro, he soon ran out of breath, his belly flattened, and he was just right again. He ran to the rocket to see if he could fit through the door. And yes, this time Robin did fit into the rocket, fired up the rocket and flew away from Planet Ham. The Tin Knight was left to stare dumbly as the rocket soared up into space.

“Whew,” Robin said to himself. “That was a close one. That’s the end of overeating. And I’m going to carry a can opener with me since some of the food is so hard to eat without it.”
