Just as it is important for us humans to talk to each other, it is also very important for animals. And just like humans have many different languages, each species of animal has its own way of talking to each other. Dogs bark, growl, and whine. Cats meow and purr. Birds sing and chirp. But there are also animals that have a very special kind of language.
Camels, for example. Instead of making sounds, they spit. Don’t laugh, I’m not joking, camels really do spit. The further the better. Language is very important among animals. You will understand this from the story I am about to tell you.

It happened in a zoo. A new camel was to be brought to this zoo. The keepers hoped that he would meet a female camel and that they would have baby camels together. It was a big event. All the zoo staff were looking forward to it. When the day arrived, a huge truck pulled up and parked by the camel enclosure. The large rear doors slowly opened and the new camel peered out. He cautiously stepped out and slowly walked around his new home. He was beautiful. He stood tall. His humps swayed magnificently on his back and his head was held proudly high. The female camels couldn’t take their eyes off him.
The keepers were happy that everything was going better than expected. But then one of the female camels came up to the new camel and spat into the distance. The camel boy looked at her, but did nothing. He just stared at her, wondering what she was doing. “Come on, spit too, and spit far. Show that you’re a real man,” the keepers whispered to themselves as they watched what was happening. But the camel did nothing. The offended camel girl walked away. The camel boy approached her, but she pushed him away. And that was it.
This went on for a few days. The new camel tried to make friends with the female camels, but he couldn’t. Until he showed that he could spit far enough, they weren’t interested in him. One of the keepers watched this for so long that he took pity on the new camel. He decided to teach him. He went to see the camel every day and showed him how to spit. He tried to explain that it was important and that without it, the girls wouldn’t want him. Only with a proper spit could the camel show that he was a real man. It was funny to watch the keeper spit and the camel look at him. But the keeper didn’t give up.
After a few weeks, the camel finally got it. He puckered his mouth and spat. And boy did he spit, like a champion! The keeper was overjoyed. He immediately sent the camel to the camel ladies. “Go show off, buddy,” he said encouragingly and sent him off. The camel slowly approached the others. He was shy, but he knew that if he wanted to impress them, he had to show what he could do. And so he spat. He stood up proudly and watched to see what would happen. The female camels immediately ran up to him and began to show their interest. Both the keeper and the camel were very happy with how well everything turned out. From that day on, the young camel was never lonely. He learned that sharing his voice opened the door to friendship. And just like the camel, we too can make our world brighter when we use our words. Every word we share is like a tiny key that unlocks smiles, laughter, and new friends.
