Nighttime Adventure

One quiet night, little Peter, who lived with his family in a picturesque house on the edge of the forest, decided to go on a secret expedition. He revealed his daring plan to his faithful dog Buddy. Before they set off on their adventure, Peter took a large piece of cake from the refrigerator to take with them.

Buddy licked his lips and jumped out of the window. “Good thing we’re on the ground floor,” Peter said, and slipped out the window too, where his dog explorer was already waiting impatiently for him.

They had barely taken a few steps toward the forest when Peter suggested a quick cake break to recharge their batteries. After their sweet feast, they plunged into the dark forest, their path lit only by a flashlight and the silence broken only by the hooting of an owl.

Suddenly, a voice came from the branches: “What are you doing in the forest at night?” asked an owl named Nightgazer. “We’re explorers!” Peter replied proudly, shining his light on her. “We love adventure.”

The owl frowned and shook her head. “Hey, don’t shine that light in my eyes! And anyway, what are you doing out here alone in the woods so late? There are lots of dangers lurking here. What would you do if a bear appeared in front of you? They don’t like to be disturbed and they guard their territory.”

Peter tried to remain calm: “You’re just trying to scare us!” he said determinedly.

“Not at all,” the owl continued seriously. “And not just bears. There’s also a pack of hungry wolves roaming this forest. They wouldn’t go easy on you, and you wouldn’t even have time to run away!” Peter was starting to get a little scared, even though he tried not to show it.

“And you don’t even know about the old wild boar,” added Nighgazer. “He attacks anything that moves! He runs and lunges at anyone who stands in his way.”

Peter and Buddy began to vividly imagine how such an enraged wild boar would chase them through the trees. Suddenly, their thirst for adventure somehow passed.

“We should go home, Buddy,” Peter breathed. “Mom and Dad will definitely be worried about us. And besides… we’re out of cake.” “Woof!” agreed Buddy.

They quickly returned to the house, Peter changed into his pajamas and slipped into bed. “It’s better here than in the forest, don’t you think, Buddy?” he said, petting the dog. “I guess we’re still too young for nighttime adventures.”

“Woof! Woof!” Buddy agreed.

And so they both realized that it was better to wait until daytime to have adventures. For now, they were too scared to come back to the forest.
